Hit & Run Baseball is now offering a well
defined program to increase Bat Speed,
Rotational Strength & Torque, and many other
keys for improving your ability to hit the
baseball. In conjunction with many proven
aspects of the Arm Velocity Program, the
application of performing various drills and
techniques that produce higher Bat Speed will be
achieved. Instructed by Coach Mike Jackson
which has a proven record of Baseball Functional
Strength Training and Arm Velocity Program since
2002.
Elite Bat Speed Program -
Objective:
Our Bat Speed Hitting Program was developed to
train the body to perform the correct rotational
mechanics during the batting process. The Elite
Bat Speed is only offered to players ages 13 &
up who look to maximize hitting ability. The
Junior Bat Speed is for athletes ages 10-12.
There is nothing more frustrating than
struggling at the plate. Therefore, the number
one objective is to get the player more at ease
and confident when batting. Elite Bat Speed
Program will help the athlete to perform at
their peak power and batting speed all season
long. Not only do our programs focus on the
torque and rotational mechanics, but we also
focus on actually hitting the ball. Reaction
timing drills, tracking the ball, and hand-eye
coordination are a must for success.
How it works:
The 2-day per week program (2 day per week for
Junior’s) includes a comprehensive age-specific
resistance program. Strength training will be
included to develop speed and power, focusing on
the core muscles, back region and auxiliary
muscles all used when coiling and uncoiling
during a bat swing. Several swinging drills are
incorporated in order to increase hitting
ability, and ensure proper mechanics. Poor
visual skills & delayed reaction time can limit
an athlete’s ability to hit. The most important
visual skill is the ability to track the ball.
This entails conditioning the eyes to remain
focused on an object while it moves toward you.
Reaction time (the time between stimulus and
beginning of response) is quickened in the Elite
Bat Speed Program by training drills that the
pros use.
Program Includes:
An assessment of each athletes rotation, health
and preparedness for successful participation in
the program, a video analysis of batting
mechanics, an advanced state-of-the-art
batting-specific strength program, swinging
routines to build strength, power, speed,
balance and flexibility, training drills to
develop reaction time, hand-eye coordination,
and tracking the ball.
Measured
Performance:
Bat Velocity and ball tracking accuracy are
regularly measured and documented to provide
objective feedback and ensure program success.
Participants will also have three video analysis
sessions throughout the training program.
When:
Hit & Run Baseball takes into consideration the
special demands placed on the body during the
batting motion, while giving careful
consideration to the developing structures of
the pre-adolescent. Both programs are limited to
the first 25 participants. Elite Bat Speed 12
week program from 11/08/2010 - 01/28/2011
Elite Bat Speed Sessions – Tuesday and Thursday
5:30 - 7:00 pm. Sessions may take up to 1 1/2
hrs to complete. Due to the overwhelming
response to our programs, participants must come
to their assigned time slot. In order to keep a
high quality of instruction, Hit & Run Baseball
has decided that make-up session must be
scheduled with an instructor. In order to
maintain the integrity of our programs, students
may not make up any part of the training without
supervision.

I can guess what else you are looking for…
Desires
that are Universal in our sport…
You
want more Velocity?
You
want to Recover Faster between Starts?
You
want to Throw more Efficiently?
You
want Low Risk to Injury!
You

But you can improve in every area above!
Let
me first say that this program is intense and is
not like any "normal" pitching lesson.
You will have an initial FREE evaluation and we
will discuss your goals and work ethic needed
for acceptance into the program.
The
Elite and Junior Velocity Program will teach you
to become more explosive, more flexible, and
generate overall improvement of core strength,
and proper pitching mechanics, therefore taking
stress away from the arm. THE FIRST 30 MINUTES
IS SPENT PREPARING THE PITCHER PHYSICALLY. THIS
IS NOT A PROGRAM FOR SOMEONE WHO DOESN'T LIKE TO
WORK. SESSIONS ARE 90 to 120 MINUTES IN LENGTH.
Well,
if you’ve read this much you have the idea. If
you have the desire to really become a better
overall pitcher, the rest of this page will
explain what its all about and how you get

Elite
and Junior Velocity Development Program
Objective:
The
Arm Velocity programs were developed to increase
controlled ball speed and train the body to
handle the unique demands placed upon the
shoulder during pitching. The Elite program is
only offered to pitchers ages 14 & up who
look to maximize ball speed in preparation for
an upcoming season. The Junior Program is for
pitchers ages 11-13. The number one objective is
to enhance performance and decrease the risk of
injury.
Guarantee:
On
average, the Elite & Junior Arm Velocity
Program has increased ball speed by 4-6 mph,
with the highest record gain at 10 mph. This
program is guaranteed to increase ball speed by
at least 3 mph, or your money back. To be
eligible for the guarantee, athletes must be
accepted into the program, attend 95% of ALL
training sessions, and meet work ethic criteria
over 12 weeks.
Program
Overview:
 The
Elite 3 day per week program (2 day per week for
Juniors) integrates Hit & Run’s
baseball-specific conditioning and proper
throwing mechanics with consideration of the
shoulder's functional anatomy and the
biomechanics of the pitching motion. Strength
training will be included to develop speed and
power. Arm speed is developed in sequence with
the transfer of energy from the lower
extremities and core, to the pitcher's upper
extremity. To control this transfer of energy,
dynamic balance must be maintained. Weight
training for pitchers is NOT body building!
Often times, it is not the pitcher's large
muscles that break down. Injury usually occurs
in the smaller muscles and connective tissue of
the shoulder, therefore, Hit & Run’s
strength training for pitchers is considered to
be more functional fitness training with
emphasis on joint-integrity and stability.
The
training will incorporate the use of the
following:
 |
Medicine
Balls (6lb, 8lb, and 10lb) |

Letter
to the Parents or Athlete
Well
if you’ve read this far you obviously have a
sincere desire to provide the best training to
yourself or your son or daughter. I’ve spent
the better part of 15 years studying from the
best in the professional ranks for baseball
conditioning and functional strength and I’m a
Certified Personal Trainer specializing in
Sports Conditioning and Speed Agility and
Quickness Training. If you are still wondering
what really goes behind the training, continue
reading…
Baseball
/ Softball Specific Functional Fitness
are methods of strength training specific to the
athletic movements Baseball and Softball players
use. Specifically to throw properly and
efficiently with less injuries, and the have the
functional strength, quickness, and agility to
play the game.
Many
of the drills and training series here were
taken from international performance analysts,
biomechanic studies, American Sports Medicine
Institute and years of seeing just what
"truth’s, absolutes and imperatives"
actually work and which actually diminish the
proper dynamic sequencing of movements the body
must have to perform efficiently.
Our
Functional Strength Training and Velocity
Programs are based upon contemporary sports
science, modern medicine, Pacific Rim
philosophies, and Eastern European training
techniques.
Our
methods integrate four interdependent training
systems; biomechanical, physical, nutritional,
and mental/emotional - the four performance
absolutes.
Just as our Baseball specific
fitness program trains the body's muscles,
connective tissues, nerves and bones to react
with optimal efficiency and effectiveness, so
too are the four performance absolutes
integrated to produce optimal results. These
advanced training methods are predicated on age,
gender, level of fitness, the degree to which
the individual is physically challenged, and the
tasks which he or she is required to perform.
Whether your goal is to throw
harder, throw more efficiently, last longer and
go deeper in games, attain more speed, recover
faster after outings, or Agility &
Quickness, the advanced training programs will
get you there if your dedication to training
hard and correctly are made. No matter where one
is starting from, no matter where one is going,
our advanced training methods will optimize
performance, fundamental health, and your
overall baseball / softball fitness.
Yours
in Baseball,
Mike
